Record the show's Grupo Serenô on February 19, 2011 in Sociedade 13 de Maio, the house where the group performs every Saturday.

The group was born in 2007 in Curitiba-PR.
In three years the group does a fine job of research and interpretation of the samba in their various forms.

Formed by Roseane Santos (vocals, percussion), Eduardo Gomide (vocals, guitar), Gustavo Proença (vocals, percussion), Fernando Lobo (vocals, percussion), Rafael Araujo (percussion), Manchinha (harmonica point) and Marco Filgueiras (
small guitar).

Marcel Powell and Daniel Migliavacca

Daniel Migliavacca and Marcel Powell

Record of the concert guitarist and composer Marcel Powell and Daniel Migliavacca, young people explore their instruments inside the various possibilities of interpretations through vigorous and improvisations where the technique serves the music, told to "play along" by artists like Glauco Solter (Bass) and Alexandre Ribeiro (clarinet). The event occurred in the Original Beto Batata in the neighborhood of Alto da XV Curitiba, on 28/01/2011, continuing the presentations of the 29th Circuit Off Music Workshop of Curitiba. Beto Batata space that also has played host to Marco Lobo and Trio Elf.

On the day in question could not be present during the show, I just plug in a sound system and write "just for the record. "

The system used was:

Powered speakers Mackie Thump TH15A

Digital Mixer Yamaha 01V96

L / R signal from the mixer to MacBook with USB Behringer board.

Recording made in Logic8

Dynamics Processor (Compressor)

Compressor

Analog Compressor
Dynamic Range Compression: or simply compression is a process that adjusts the level of a signal generated by a sound source. Compression can be used on a recording, live in a sound, or broadcasting to control the audio volume. The device used to apply this effect is called compressor and can be analog or digital.

The maintenance of the signal level within limits causes a decrease in varição between the peaks and valleys of the waveform, thus reducing the intensity of dynamic changes. The use of this effect may prevent high levels of unwanted signal or noise at low levels of signal, providing a greater amplitude control.

Its use can also be done in order to deliberately distorting the original sound, from the maintenance of high levels of signal.

The compressor is nothing more than a button for "volume", whose main parameters are:

Threshold: Point of reference signal amplitude, from which the compressor should act.

Ratio: correspond to the compression ratio. Indicates an attenuation of the signal amplitude. Any sign that exceeds the threshold point, it should be mitigated as the rate chosen. Ex: (2:1 / 3:1 / 4:1 / : 1)

Rate : a compressor becomes a limiter.

Attack: Time it takes for the compressor to lower the amplitude established.

Release: Time to return the compressor to the amplitude to the original level (without attenuation)

Compression Modes (Hard Knee, Soft Knee)

The Knee control the curve of the response curve, which is an acute angle and has a rounded edge. Soft Knee mode slowly increases the compression ratio increases as the level and eventualment

Soft Knee: a simple solution to the problem caused by a sudden change in gain when the signal crosses the threshold. Since the problem is caused by the fact that the sudden change of gain is because the "knee" in the response curve is a closed curve, the solution is to soften the sharp bend in a gradual curve. This response is called a soft knee for obvious reasons, as can be seen in the figures below.

Soft and Hard Knee

Types of Compression Peak or RMS

PEAK mode the attack and release controls are available to the user. In the RMS mode, the compressor operates with the times "average"usually defined by the circuit set by the manufacturer. It is extremely important that a good learning experience for you always work PEAK mode, so you can understand the results of compression each time you change any of the parameters.

G. R. Meter

Gain Reduction Meter. Indicates the amount of signal attenuation in dB.

Sidechain

It is an alternate entrance that some compressors can have. Enables control of compression from an external signal. The signal coming through only to shoot serce sidechain compression that is connected to the input device.

International Day of Rock

Event held at the Sociedade Treze de Maio. Traditional home of the city known for samba.
Arte (festa de 120 anos da Sociedade 13 de Maio)
Outside the tours, the Society of Thirteen May holds a rich history on the formation of the City of Curitiba.

With the abolition of slavery, the "liberated Africans", sought ways of survival in the city. The creation of a Club, the Society was completed in June 1888. Later, it moved the foundation to celebrate the date on which the Company carries on the name. Located in a region called the Boulevard São Francisco Curitiba,  inhabited by blacks, the Thirteen May was a reference point for 99% of the freedmen. It was divided administrative tasks, they convened meetings, fundraising, providing assistance to others in need, including arranging funerals and burials worthy addition to festivals and other events.

But since today we want is the abolition of prejudice, whether racial, ethnic or any other step, the house opens the door for different kinds of events. Since the event in question, celebrating the WORLD OF ROCK, where we could watch the concert bands curitibanas The Bone, Banda Paranóia (with a repertoire as a tribute to Raul Seixas) and the Banda Bindagem.

Blindagem

Blindagem
The band shield can be considered the rock face of Parana. Founded in the late '70s, became the band's best-known Paraná over the years. It was the first state to achieve national prominence with hits playing on radio stations across the country in major concerts and TV shows of the season. With its own language and style, the band won over fans of several generations, who continue honoring the band wherever it touches. The shield is formed by vocalist Rodriggo Vivazs, Paulo Teixeira (guitar), Alberto Rodriguez (guitar), Paulo Juk (bass) and Rubén "Pato" Romero (drums).
