Marco Lobo and Trio Elf - Show held on 09/14/2010

Marco Lobo
The event occurred at the restaurant in Curitiba Beto Batata in the neighborhood of Alto da XV. The place is famous in the city not only for their delicious potatoes, but also because it is a meeting point for several musicians from the state capital. The scenario has two buildings connected by a well-kept garden. The walls, strong colors are used constantly to support exhibitions by local artists. The soundtrack for your time strolling by MPB, choro and jazz instrumental, run in one of four environments in which to encounter the old upright piano (used on the show in question), a harpsichord and a rare electric piano Yamaha. All in perfect condition.

The day went against just to vocalize the event (but as I can not resist a good opportunity, also recorded). Simple thing, in order that the environment of the show was very little, training had no mystery, besides the high level of the musicians making it easier and much work.

The system

Powered speakers Antera M15. 1A (two were used as a monitor)
Digital mixer yamaha 01V96
Microphones: Rode NT2-A, Behringer ECM 8000, Shure SM58, Shure SM57, Sound King kit and a Direct Box for Bass.

The Show

Was on account of percussionist Marco Lobo with the German Walter Lang (piano) and Sven Faller (bass). Lang and Faller trio are part of Elf, which has reinvented the classic lineup of piano jazz trio called, especially by the use of grooves and sounds of dance music as a basis for improvisation.

Trio ELF: Walter Lang, Gerwin Eisenhauer and Sven Faller
The European set is formed, and the pianist and bassist, drummer Gerwin Eisenhauer, who did not come to Brazil. And with such training, Lobo and the two Germans had an uncommon musicality, the concert that ended the brief tour through Brazil.

In an interview with the newspaper Gazeta do Povo, Lobo says that some reasons, the most emotional potential, made him choose this space, in Alto da XV, to perform in Curitiba. In January, the musician was at the state capital of Bahia and was invited to display their musicianship in several areas. Enjoyed being at all stages of the Full Jazz Wonka, but it was felt that at Beto Batata the best atmosphere.

Curitiba is a city that is in the way of the player for a long time. Already passed by the state capital with artists like Marisa Monte, Joao Bosco and Milton Nascimento - the moment he is part of musical training who works with Maria Bethania.

But during the stay of Curitiba, in addition to professional commitments, Lobo finds gaps in his schedule to meet with local jazz musicians, he admires and who is friend, including Glauco Solter bassist, drummer
Endrigo Bettega and saxophonist Hélio Brandão.

Check out two songs.
